This article addresses the issue many people are having when they upgrade to Microsoft Windows 10.

The Issue:

Microsoft Windows Hyper-V Manager reports this error:

An error occurred while attempting to connect to server [SERVER].  Check that the Virtual Machine Management service is running and that you are authorized to connect to the server.

Here is the error detail:

Hyper-V encountered an error trying to access an object on computer [SERVER] because the object was not found.  The object might have been deleted.  Verify that the Virtual Machine Management service on the computer is running.

The Solution:

Run "MOFCOMP %SYSTEMROOP%\System32\WindowsVirtualization.V2.mof" on the server you cannot connect to with Hyper-V Manager.

This process should only take a second or two.  You will not need to reboot your server after this command is run.

Please note:

This command could cause other issues with the ability to manage the server.
